The INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LIONS CLUBS,

is the largest and the most reputed social service organisation in the world, spread over 210 countries having 50000 clubs and almost 1.4 million volunteer members serving humanity for the past 104 years !! LIONS CLUB OF CALCUTTA GREATER, a pioneer club of Kolkata, chartered in 1971, has been rendering selfless services at , CHOWHATI, as their adopted KARMBHUMI! In the past half a century they have instrumental in transforming a non-description sleepy village into a fast developing Mofussil town.

Lions Calcutta Greater is a Visionary Club, where all the members are MELVIN JONES FELLOW( MJF). It is the largest MJF Club in India. We have also been recognised as a WORLD CALASS CENTENNIAL CLUB.

We are running LIONS CALCUTTA GREATER VIDYA MANDIR (LCGVM) an English medium, co-educational school affiliated to CISCE BOARD. It is a philanthropic venture driven by non-profit motive, with service as its sole mission.

Lions Club of Calcutta Greater is actively involved in other service activities such as regularly organising POLIO CORRECTIVE SURGICAL CAMPS, in which we have treated almost 10000 cases, we sponsor MASS COMMUNITY MARRIAGES. and BYE PASS SURGERIES for the economically constraint .

LIONS CALCUTTA GREATER MEDICARE CENTRE is a Government approved 10 bed EYE HOSPITAL. We are conducting eye surgeries throughout the year. We conduct CATARACT Surgeries using the latest techniques such as PHACO at very economical rates. We also conduct a large number of free Cataract surgeries.

We have an OUTDOOR PATIENT DEPARTMENT (OPD) where leading specialist doctors hold regular chamber.

We have a MOU with SETHI DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE PVT LTD, a 9001 certified diagnostic clinic having the latest state of art testing equipments for blood, stool and urine.

We have our in house RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT, wherein we have installed the latest edition of DIGITAL X-RAY MACHINE and the most updated version of ULTRASONOGRAPHY MACHINE.

We run a SPECTACLE Shop in the same premises, and arrange for the latest designed glass frames fitted with optical glasses at most reasonable rates.

We also run a GENERIC DRUG STORE, where generic medicines are sold at extremely low cost as per the guideline of the PRADHAN MANTRI JAN AUSHADHI YOJANA,
